Chennai has been my home and my classroom for over 10 years. I am now moving my practice to the heart of the city—hosting classes at Mandram, Alwarpet- to build the kind of community I’ve always envisioned.
Dance with Parvathi is my way of creating the space I always wished for: one where Bharatanatyam is a conversation and where curiosity matters more than "perfection.”

The Intent
I want this to be a threshold that is easy to cross. My goal is to host a space that feels:
Free & Curious: Where we explore movement without the weight of rigid expectations.
Safe & Non-judgmental: A supportive environment for every body and every skill level.
A Sense of Community: Where we learn from each other and grow together.
Children (6+ years)
My focus is on building focus, joy, and body awareness in young dancers. We don't just learn steps; we build a relationship with the art form that is nurturing and fun.

My Teaching Methods
Open Dialogue: I encourage you to question and explore, not just learn by rote.I lead a reflective practice to ensure your voice as a dancer is part of the dialogue.
Responsive Teaching: I listen to the learner and respond to your unique pace and style.
Appreciating the Art: We dive into the history, beauty, discipline, and storytelling power of Bharatanatyam.
Games & Play: I include games and play-based learning to keep the practice vibrant and creative.
Celebrating the Process: Here, the hours we spend practicing and reflecting are valued as much as any final performance.

Location
I am hosting these sessions in the heart of Alwarpet at Mandram. The space is located on the third floor and is air-conditioned. You can access the studio via the elevator or the stairs.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who is this for?
I welcome children beginning their journey, adults stepping onto the floor for the first time, and those returning to dance after many years away. You don’t need prior experience, just the spirit to move.
How long is each class?
Each session is 1 hour long.
How many people are in a class?
To ensure I can give personal attention to every student, I keep my classes small, with a maximum of 10 people.
What should I wear?
I recommend comfortable cotton clothing for breathability.
Top: Half-sleeved or long-sleeved kurtas (short or long).
Bottom: Track pants, salwars, or leggings.
Please carry a duppata to tie around your waist.
What are the payment methods?
I accept payments via UPI and Bank Transfer. Details will be shared upon registration.
What style of Bharatanatyam do you teach?
My practice is rooted in the Kalakshetra style which is known for its graceful lines and technical depth. While we honor the tradition of this specific style, I ensure the environment remains a safe space for curiosity rather than just rote repetition.
